How can employers SHOW appreciation of their employees?
Don Schmitz/Human Resource Staffing

All companies SAY they appreciate their employees. Some companies THINK they show appreciation when they build beautiful offices, pay their employees high salaries and offer excellent benefits however even companies that do so, have unhappy employees.

So what can we do to SHOW our employees we appreciate them? You might try the following:

1.
Involve your employees in the direction of the company
Companies that give encouragement gain buy-in.
2.
Show your employees you care
Search not for the negative but the positive your employees demonstrate and reward them with in some small way. One way is simply a thank you. The higher up in the company the more important this becomes.
3.
Remember special days
Remember important dates in the lives of your employees. Days to celebrate include; birthdays, anniversary dates with the company and celebrating special events of the company.
4.
Gain publicity for a job well done
When someone does something well, tell the world! Publish your news in professional associations, company newsletter and post a copy on the company bulletin board.
5.
When the going gets tough…the tough get going
